Wedding cakes
Choose from any type of cake whether you want a traditional rich fruit cake or a sponge – chocolate, vanilla, lemon, carrot. You can choose tiered, single cakes, cup cakes, or a combination of these. Its your day so the choice is yours. For the decoration you can choose chocolate (cigarillos), fruit, flowers – fresh or edible sugar paste, fondant or buttercream. Please bear in mind the weather when choosing your cake as buttercream and chocolate are obviously not ideal for a midsummer cake.
Nowadays many couples opt for a cake that can double up as dessert for the wedding breakfast in order to cut the budget.
Please also consider cost when deciding on the decoration as, out of season, fresh flowers will cost more (if we are able to locate them) and sugar paste flowers entail alot more work so will increas the cost. The flowers can be kept as a keepsake or to use again to decorate your anniversary cake or for the christening of your first child, if you so wish.
